Jim Mackenzie, Chief
Executive Officer
A veteran of over 25 years in
the security alarm industry, Jim Mackenzie has demonstrated that he is one of
the industry’s most skilled executives. Throughout most of the 1970’s and
1980’s Jim served as President of API, the leading commercial security company
in Southern California. Jim next served as President of Sonitrol Corporation, a
leader in listen-in security technology services. From Sonitrol Jim went on to
serve as President of Westec, the leading residential, patrol, and response
company in the security industry. Jim then went on to found Protection One and
lead that company as CEO through the purchase of Protection One by Western
Resources. Jim is a father of three, possesses a law degree from UCLA and MBA
from USC, and is a resident of Hacienda Heights.
Tom Rankin, President
Another veteran of over 25
years in the security industry, Tom Rankin teamed with Jim Mackenzie in running
API, Westec, and Protection One, serving as General Manager, Regional Manager,
and President of those companies, respectively. Tom Rankin is a father of three,
possesses an MBA from UCLA, and is a resident of Studio City.
